Junior Fullstack Engineer
👋 We are Kilter, and we’re on a mission to transform how food is grown
At Kilter, we’re working to revolutionize sustainable agriculture and food production by harnessing the power of technology. With a growing global population and a shift toward plant-based diets, we need to grow more food on less land, while protecting nature and biodiversity.
That’s why we’re developing innovative agricultural technology, with our flagship product AX-1: a fully autonomous robot designed to transform modern farming. Using advanced AI and patented nozzle technology, AX-1 precisely targets weeds without harming crops or soil—reducing herbicide use by 95% and increasing crop yield by up to 35%.
We combine IoT connectivity, data analytics, and intuitive user interfaces to give farmers better control, better insights, and better results—right from the field.

🌱 We’re growing, and we’re now looking for a Junior Fullstack Engineer to join our engineering team.
This is a great opportunity if you're early in your career and eager to learn. You’ll be part of a friendly, cross-functional product team working on the software behind AX-1—from mobile apps and user dashboards to IoT and backend systems. You’ll get hands-on experience and plenty of guidance along the way.
What will you do as a Junior Fullstack Engineer at Kilter?
You’ll contribute to the software systems that power AX-1 in the field; from backend APIs and mobile apps to IoT communication and user dashboards.
Some of the things you’ll be doing:
- Help develop backend services in Node.js, with mentorship from senior engineers.
- Assist with building and maintaining PostgreSQL databases.
- Learn to work with Docker, testing, and deployment tools.
- Develop real-time communication using MQTT and other IoT protocols.
- Build responsive web apps in React and contribute to frontend features.
- Explore Flutter for mobile development (we’ll help you learn).
- Join in on debugging, testing and deploying features in a collaborative team.
This is a hands-on learning role, and we don’t expect you to know everything. What we do expect is that you’re curious, motivated, and ready to grow.
🌟 We think you will thrive with us if you:
Have some experience with React, Node.js, or Flutter—through school, side projects or internships
- Are excited to learn about IoT, robotics, and how software meets the physical world.
- Enjoy building things that are used by real people (and real robots).
- Like working in teams and asking questions when you hit a wall.
- Care about writing clean, maintainable code, even if you’re still learning how.
🧩 You most likely have:
- MSc in Computer Science or similar degree.
- 1+ years of coding experience (in school, personal projects or work).
- Some knowledge of JavaScript, TypeScript or mobile development.
- Familiarity with React and Node.js.
- A basic understanding of relational databases like PostgreSQL.
- Interest in tools like Git, Docker and tools for cloud deployments.
Bonus if you’ve also dabbled in:
- Flutter mobile development.
- CI/CD pipelines (Gitlab CI/CD or Github Actions).
- Security best practices.
- Projects related to agriculture, sustainability or hardware.

🌱 Why should you choose Kilter?
At Kilter, you will be part of an innovative and rapidly growing startup with global ambitions. You’ll work in a flat, open, and inclusive environment, surrounded by engaged and talented colleagues from a wide range of backgrounds - both culturally and academically. Some of us are early birds, while others start slow and pick up speed as the day goes on. Whether you prefer shoes or slippers, we all share a passion for delivering solutions that promote sustainable food production.
Kilter is all about giving people the opportunity to grow and take ownership of their workday. As we grow, you’ll have the opportunity to shape both your role and your skills. Our headquarters are in Langhus, Nordre Follo, complete with parking spaces and charging facilities for electric cars. We offer a competitive salary and the chance to participate in the company’s options program.
Are you ready to make a significant impact on the solutions and products you work on? Do you thrive in a collaborative environment, working closely with other technical and creative minds? Are you someone who can navigate a quick path to a robust solution, all while testing and refining ideas along the way? If so, we want you on our team!
We’re not expecting perfection; we’re looking for potential. If you’re eager to learn, contribute and build real software for real users, we’d love to hear from you.
